Doylestown event to put the ‘fun’ in fundraising

December 5, 2018 by

For the past three years, the Doylestown area Hunger Heroes 4th Annual Zumba-thon has seen women and men work up a sweat to help those in need, and the organizers noted that it has always been a success. This year, they have made some upgrades to the event, and have invited everyone to join in the fun.

The fundraiser has been moved to the evening, and everyone is encouraged to come dressed in an outfit that will light up the night. There will be items that glow in the dark available, and the group is welcome to add their own pieces, as a prize will be awarded to the individual wearing the ‘glowiest’ outfit.

Garden of Health, Inc. has organized the fundraiser, and those who attend are asked to bring along a donation of food such as those that are sugar free, gluten free, or heart healthy. Donations of fruit and vegetables will also be welcome, and the contributions will be gathered and then distributed to food banks and others community service agencies.

The fee to take part in this activity is $20. Posters that promote an event like this, that includes a list of the most needed items for donation, can be produced by an area poster printing company.

Those who wish to help make sure everyone in the local area has food on their table will be invited to attend on January 18. The location for the function will be St. Maria Goretti School in Hatfield.
