Bala Cynwyd to see the way the cookie crumbles

In the Bala Cynwyd and Main Line area, hungry college students will soon have a new way to get snacks, even very late at night.

Insomnia Cookies recently opened a new location in Bryn Mawr, just in time for the back-to-school season. The new location is a few blocks away from Villanova University. It will also deliver to Rosemont College, Cabrini College, Bryn Mawr College, Harcum College, Eastern University, and Haverford College.

The late-night cookie delivery chain was started at the University of Pennsylvania and has since opened locations across the country. Despite its nationwide success, the founder of the chain, Seth Berkowitz, still considers southeastern Pennsylvania to be its home.

Berkowitz launched the company because he loved getting food delivered, but did not like the idea of eating a full, heavy meal in the wee hours of the night. Insomnia Cookies also filled a void because when a lot of students were hungry late at night, most delivery places had already closed.

To celebrate back-to-campus time, the company is offering a special deal of three free cookies with every online order. The company can use postcard printing to welcome area students back to school and to advertise its deal.

The cookie store opens every day at noon. Delivery to local dorms begins at 5:00 pm every day and ends at 3:00 am. Cookies are baked fresh daily. Flavors include classics like chocolate chunk as well as more inventive options such as S’Mores Deluxe.

The newest location is at 1084 E. Lancaster Avenue.
