November 19, 2013 by

A Long Island Green Homes presentation taking place in a few days’ time will help homeowners save money on their heating bills this winter by outlining several initiatives that can be used. The organizers of the seminar may have used poster printing and flyer printing to promote it to people in the area.

As part of this presentation, guests will learn how to make their homes more energy efficient using step-by step instructions on retrofitting their homes, so that their energy bills will be lower this year. The Town of Smithtown Planning Department will highlight the program benefits, as will the contractors participating in the program, through a presentation of questions and answers.

Homeowners will be provided with information on how to have their homes assessed, obtain rebates, and receive low-interest loans for making the necessary upgrades to their homes. Currently, more than 500 residents have benefited from this program, while more than 100 have been able to upgrade their homes through rebates and lenient loan rates.

The presentation, which is free to attend for any homeowner looking for energy-conscious tips, will be happening this Thursday, November 21, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Smithtown Library; Nesconset Branch located at 127 Smithtown Blvd, Suite 20, in Nesconset, New York, just a short drive from Smithtown. To learn more about this event or to register, please visit the Smithtown New York website or call the municipal office or library during business hours.
