Authors to display photographs on Huntington’s past

Tomorrow, history buffs are going to be in for a treat, especially if they take an interest in local heritage.

The Cold Spring Harbor Library and Environmental Center will be hosting a book signing and lecture by Antonia S. Mattheou and Dr. Alfred V. Sforza. Their book, Around Huntington Village, features photographs that chronicle the history of the town and its surrounding areas. For this presentation, the co-authors will be focusing on the photographs of Cold Spring Harbor.

The center was founded 125 years ago. Since its creation, it has inhabited a variety of different buildings, but it has always been a resource for culture and learning in the area. It is currently supported by its Friends Foundation, which helps to raise funds to care for the site.

Organizers for this event may want to have printing companies create flyers, postcards, or posters for advertising purposes. This looks set to be an interesting event for anyone who has an interest in Long Island’s history, and getting the word out could draw in a greater audience. Even advertising in places that are a little further away from Cold Spring Harbor, like Hempstead or Port Washington, might bring in people.

The signing and lecture takes place tomorrow, February 9, and runs from 1:30 pm until 3:30 pm. It is free to attend.
