Chase Bank options for Port Jefferson Station

November 14, 2012 by

The Chase Bank branch on Main Street in Port Jefferson, which is banking home for many Port Jefferson Station residents, is still closed in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. However, Meredith Festa, the branch manager, has said it will not be long before the branch is operational once more, and now residents can find staff and conduct business at two other nearby locations. Festa said:

“The Chase branch in the village has extensive flood damage. They are repairing everything…”

Downtown bank branch employees have been working on a temporary basis at the Chase location on 60 North Country Road and in Setauket while clean-up efforts are underway at their home branch. Festa continued:

“We had to split up the team due to space, but are committed to our customers.”

Employees at the Main Street branch were reaching out to business neighbors before the hurricane hit to assist them in getting prepared. For example, Festa said Chase personnel was able to assist the owner of Home Kingdom, another Main Street business, to get everything out of the store prior to the hurricane’s arrival. According to Festa, it was a good thing they were there to help otherwise the owner would have lost their entire stock.

As for the Main Street branch, flooding from Sandy caused extensive damage to the bank’s interior, walls, carpeting, furniture, and equipment. Despite the similar losses suffered by many small establishments, from restaurants to dress shops, dry cleaners to local print companies, businesses have reached out to the community to ease the stress caused by the massive hurricane.

Customers can reach Main Street bank staff at either (631) 331-6534 in the Port Jefferson branch or (631) 941-3800 in the Setauket branch.
