Nanuet home to new Smashburger restaurant

Smashburger opened its first location in Rockland County in Nanuet earlier in the month on eastbound Route 59 in the Shoparama shopping center. Jim Denburg, owner of the restaurant, has been using banner printing to announce the opening of the restaurant to the community.

All food items at Smashburger will be fresh and made to order, and the restaurant will be open seven days a week from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm. There are 70 seats both inside and outside, or patrons have the option to take out. The goal is that each order will be prepared within six minutes.

Denburg said that about 30% of customers take out their meals while the rest prefer to eat at the restaurant. The interior of the restaurant is decorated in earth tones and has an open kitchen, while the restaurant itself has easy access from the road and lots of parking.

The signature menu items are the Smashburger, a handcrafted burger, and the Smashfries, with other available items including grilled chicken sandwiches, salads, hand-mixed milk shakes, black bean veggie burgers, and hot dogs for the kids.

The restaurant held pre-grand opening and VIP receptions for officials of the government and donors and friends of the United Hospice of Rockland on August 13th. These events were by invitation only and included complimentary food. Donations were accepted on behalf of the United Hospice.

With the opening of Smashburger, Denburg was able to hire 35 people to join the restaurant team.
