Halloween starts early in Nanuet

Ticket sales for many events for Halloween are already underway in the Nanuet area, but are certain to create a scary and fun Halloween experience.

The Headless Horseman from ‘The Legend of Sleepy Hollow’ will be patrolling the historic Phillipsburg Manor in Sleepy Hollow. Feature-film makeup artists and costume designers will create elaborate costumes and effects to make it a very real experience. All weekends in October, and every day from October 26 through Halloween, are the dates for this event.

Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton-on-Hudson will have a display of jack-o-lanterns transformed into aquatic creatures, trains, the Statue of Liberty, and even dinosaurs. This event takes place beginning in September and runs through the end of November on select nights.

The only haunted cornfield in Westchester County, a long terrifying walk through the woods, and two haunted houses are featured at the eight acres of The Haunt at Rocky Ledge in White Plains. This event is held all weekends in October.

Six haunted houses complete with special effects and live actors highlight the Pure Terror Scream Park in Monroe. The park is open weekends beginning at the end of September through the beginning of November.

Kevin McCurdy’s Haunted Mansion in Wappingers Falls features haunted rooms staged with animatronics, set pieces, and actors. The house is opened Fridays through Sundays all weekends in October.
