A wrestling expert in Lindenhurst has hit a milestone in his work as a high school coach.

Ron Frole, who coaches pupils at Lindenhurst High School, recently achieved the 100th victory of his career. The event was marked with a special plaque dedicated at a senior night in February.

However, shortly before the commemoration ceremony, the high school lost a tough Suffolk League II contest over in Northport, during which Lindenhurst’s Casey Fazio were defeated by Connetquot High School’s Tom Flanagan.

Speaking about the competition, Frole said his students “wrestled their hearts out”.

Frole has been head coach of Lindenhurst High School’s wrestling program for 10 years. Additionally, he has held the positions of assistant coach, junior varsity coach, and middle school coach for over two decades.

He graduated from the school in 1988 and wrestled with its legendary coach, Joe Russo.

According to the Lindy Gazette, Frole has worked with assistant coaches Mark Frole, Dan Perez, and Rick Brodmerkal to put together a strong wrestling program.

Speaking about the coach, one of his assistants, Mark Frole, said he will do whatever it takes to help the athletes under his tuition improve, and is dedicated to his position within Lindenhurst High School.

When the reputation of a school program alone is not enough to draw new members, faculty can turn to services such as poster and flyer printing to drum up interest. Details of significant competition victories and milestones are often printed to increase interest.
