Having arrived at the conclusion that southwestern Nassau was in need of gallery at which local artists could exhibit their work, and a classroom art studio, local entrepreneur Lisa Cangemi has decided to set up the brand new gallery and art class studio, Take Part in Art, which opens officially later this week.

The new gallery/studio is located at 3118 Lawson Boulevard in in Oceanside, which is about two miles from Hewlett. With the colorful poster and banner printing, the building certainly catches the eye.

Since 1985, Cangemi has served as the art director, designer and owner of C&C Graphic Design. Moreover, for almost 30 years she has exhibited her various artistic endeavors while actively participating as a member of several of Long Island’s Art Associations.

Cangemi has also taught art and design at a number of New York colleges and presently teaches art enrichment classes, as well as art and design, sketching, painting and expressive art (which focuses on the psyche, physical body, and emotions) classes for children and adults.

In addition, Cangemi is a certified instructor of Grumbacher Paint Company and teaches acrylic painting at Nassau County’s Michael’s Craft Stores. She is also an art judge and curator for various art foundations.

The Grand Opening receptions take place on April 26 from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm, and on April 28 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Lawson Blvd location. For additional information regarding Take Part in Art, visit its website.
