Hauppauge residents celebrate and donate

October is a bonus month for Hauppauge residents who want to enjoy a good meal while contributing to a good cause. For those willing to make a short drive, the H2O restaurant in Smithtown is celebrating its 11th year anniversary this month with a special deal that supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The eatery is offering a prix fixe menu – its ‘Think Pink’ special, which gives diners the option of a three-course meal for $40 dollars. This week, October 8 – 14, H2O will add unlimited wine for an additional $10 dollars.

In addition to a great price for great food, customers also have the satisfaction of knowing the restaurant will donate $1 for each appetizer and $2 for each entrée to various breast cancer coalitions in the area.

Brothers Michael and Kurt Bohlsen are co-owners of H2O. Michael believes the enterprise has succeeded for over a decade thanks to the community, saying:

“The people here are very genuine, they’re very loyal. We’ve developed a lot of relationships with the people that live right behind us and all around us.”

The menu features cuisine that is a modern take on American seafood. Currently, the man in charge of the kitchen is Michael Meehan, head chef, who has been with the restaurant for the past three years. He gets rave reviews from the Bohlsen brothers.

H2O’s success is notable and it is a good bet that local vendors like the print company that produces the menus and the liquor distributor that supplies the bar stand will want to see the eatery celebrate many more October anniversaries.
