Go Red for Women Luncheon takes place February 16th

Farmingdale residents have the chance to support a good cause in the 11th Annual Go Red for Women Luncheon on the 16th of February.

Taking place at the Crest Hollow Country Club from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm in total, people are being invited to come out and enjoy lunch while hearing what Faith Hope Consolo of Prudential Douglas Elliman’s Retail Group has to say about the subject of heart disease.

The event website explains it as follows:

“Heart disease is still the No. 1 killer of women, taking the life of 1 in 3 women each year. This means women just like you – mothers, sisters, friends – are dying at the rate of one per minute because they don’t know what you know: heart disease kills.

Women have come together here in the fight against heart disease in women. Take your seat at the table with dedicated women and men just like you. Hear their survivor stories, learn how heart disease affects a family and how you can help stop heart disease in our lifetime…” (sic.)

Priced at $125, attendees can rest assured that their contributions will be going towards a tangible goal.

One aspect of this event that’s worth mentioning, however, is the way organizers have managed to increase awareness. While this isn’t quite the same as a professional mixer that encourages business card printing, the concept of sponsoring presentations and gaining exposure is something business owners can use successfully in most places.

With the luncheon based in Woodbury, there’s nothing to prevent Farmingdale-based individuals from registering online and making an appearance.
