Farmingdale State College has recently been recognized by 2013 U.S. News & World Report for being one of the best regional colleges in the North.

The category includes both private and public colleges. Ranked #39 last year, it has moved to the #8 position on the coveted list. Farmingdale has the distinct honor of being the only Long Island ranked college in the respective categories.

Farmingdale State College will celebrate the grand opening of the New Campus Center with a ribbon-cutting at 11:00 am this morning (February 1). The new $25m building consists of 50,000 square feet, which includes a bookstore, new dining facilities, a student lounge, and a special event ballroom accommodating up to 400 attendees for lectures or 220 for dinner events. The center will be open daily from 7:00 am – 11:00 pm.

President Dr. Keen will conduct the ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by presentations from local dignitaries and celebrities. The center is part of the $185m construction and renovation plan for the college. A new Children’s Center and Information Commons will be part of the next phase. Plans for renovation include academic buildings and labs, expansion of the athletic facilities, and roadway enhancements.

Farmingdale State College has posted courses and opened spring registration. Registration may be processed online or at the college registrar’s office, located at 2350 Broadhollow Road, Route 110 in Farmingdale.

Printing companies frequently produce materials for colleges and universities such as catalog printing. Catalogs are used to list all of the courses available and are distributed on camps as well as throughout the community.
