Farmingdale art enthusiasts to take over Main Street in September

August 17, 2017 by

The date is set and the organizers are now sharing what is already in the works for an annual community cultural celebration.

The 7th annual Farmingdale Cultural Arts Day will highlight work from local artists, and will include an art contest, sales and exhibition. Also included in the event is music and theater, all taking place in the Gazebo on the Village Green.

Everyone is welcome to attend and children are requested to bring their own creations for a special display. All children in grades five or lower can submit any type of drawing and will receive a participation sticker.

There is still plenty of time for artists and vendors to join in the activities. They can call (516)249-0093 for more information, or visit the Farmingdale Village website for an application. Artists are welcome to display and sell their original works or sell posters and postcards or other items at the event. Vendors can also join in by offering refreshments, gifts and promotional products.

The Farmingdale Village 7th Annual Art in the Park will take place on September 9 (or the rain date of September 17) and will run from noon until 4:00 pm. There is a $10 exhibit fee for artists but admission to the exhibit and all other activities is free for everyone. Once registration is complete, a schedule of performers will be released prior to the event.
