Photos and laughs in store this weekend

Visitors can learn how to use photography to its full potential this weekend at 100 Eastern Parkway, just 20 minutes from East Northport.

Folks who wish to learn more about a camera and its composition tools stand to benefit greatly from this workshop which is designed for photographers who understand how the camera works but want more from their photos.

A small explanation of the specifics of a camera will serve as a warm up for the class, although a basic understanding of a camera is required. Participants will learn how to create a feeling in the image that attracts people.

The group will meet in the beautiful Brooklyn Botanical Garden and, if the weather is good, most of the time will be spent near the Steinhard Conservatory and Japanese Garden. Local printing companies are an excellent resource for printing photography how-to booklets and are likely to have been consulted in preparation for this.

It will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 11. Entrance is free and attendees are free to stay as long as desired until the park closes at 6:00 pm.

Straight after the photography class is a chance to relax and laugh with Bobby Collins at 7:00 pm at the Governor’s Comedy Club located at 90 Division Avenue in Levittown.

With over 200 performances of stand-up comedy performed each year around the country, Collins is a must-see for stand-up comedy lovers. The funnyman started his comedy career after giving up his position as a vice president for Calvin Klein to pursue his dreams.
