New York chefs team up to make an impact

November 8, 2013 by

Next week, some talented New York chefs are teaming up for a fundraising dinner. The third annual ‘Chefs for Impact’ will benefit education endeavors in rural Africa. Gourmet food, cocktails, an auction, and live music are some of the highlights of this delicious event.

The dinner will feature the work of several talented chefs, including Dave Martin, a Top Chef finalist. Martin will also serve as the event’s MC. Other chefs taking part in this event include Pierre Thiam, Eric Simeon, Mark Henegan, Gary King, and Andrew Whitcomb. The chefs will provide guests with an eight-course tasting menu, one of which will be a cheese course from Murray’s Cheese. In addition, there will be a cocktail reception and a live auction with unique, one-of-a kind items.

People from all over New York, including those from Central Islip, are likely to want to attend this special dinner. It is probable that local print companies have provided fliers and banners to advertise this event.

Tickets for the culinary event cost $200 and space is limited. All of the dinner’s proceeds will go to Impact Network; a non-profit organization that will use to the funds to support e-learning in Zambia. E-learning is a way to provide an education to children who do not have access to school supplies or skilled teachers.

The Chefs for Impact Gala will take place at The Bowery Hotel on 335 Bowery in New York, NY 10003. This fundraiser begins at 6:00 pm on November 14.
