Somerville to have a monster of a time

October 25, 2012 by

For those in the Somerville area who like the sound of a trick-or-treat costume parade, monster pumpkin carving, and live music appearing across three individual stages this weekend, the ‘Monster Mashed-Up’ should be just the ticket.

Marking the final event of the SomerStreets 2012 Series, this will be the longest of the four events that run during this period. At the event, there will be safe trick-or-treating, five 150lb pumpkins carved using chainsaws, a costume parade, ‘Ghost of Milk Row Cemetary’ tours, and skateboard demonstrations.

This year’s Oktoberfest is also part of the Monster Mashed-Up party and features entertainment sponsored by Sally O’Briens, Bull McCabes, and Macchu Pichu. There will also be a craft fair, rock climbing wall, bounce house, children’s activities, contests, prizes, and face painting. Buses will run from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Promoting this family-friendly event to the community may have called for the assistance of poster printing and banner printing companies, as is common for this type of event. Admission is free and everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy some monstrous thrills and spills.

The Monster Mashed-Up will take place on Sunday, October 28, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Somerville Avenue in downtown Somerville, New Jersey. To learn more about this and other Halloween activities in downtown Somerville, please visit the Somerville News website or call Jackie Rossetti at 617-625-6600, extension 2614 during business hours. This is a rain or shine event, so participate are reminded to keep an eye on the weather.
