Saturday on the scavenge in Morristown

January 25, 2013 by

The ‘Winter Weekend Photo Scavenger Hunt’ is a great opportunity for families to get outside and enjoy nature and the fresh winter air. During this event, the nature center will be the focus of the scavenger hunt, but each month it runs, the hunt will be changed to keep it challenging. Flyer printing may have been used to spread the word to area families about this great adventure.

To participate in this event, all that is needed is a cell phone or camera that can take pictures. Lists of required scavenger articles can be picked up the day of the event at the Haggerty Education Center, before guests head outside and start taking shots. A picture of every item on the list must be collected but, once done, guests need to return to the Education Center as they will have a prize to pick up for their great efforts.

The theme for January’s scavenger hunt is ‘Baby, It’s Cold Outside’ and provides guests the opportunity to investigate the arboretum, while enjoying some quality time with family and friends. This venue features 127 acres of trees and shrubs, so there will be lots to see and parking is free.

The cost is $10 per family and all are welcome to join the fun. The Winter Weekend Photo Scavenger Hunt will be happening tomorrow, January 26, from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum located at 353 E. Hanover Avenue in Morristown, New Jersey. For more information, please visit the Arboretum Friends website or call 973-326-7603 during business hours.
