Highland Park residents looking forward to seasonal concert

Highland Park residents and others throughout Middlesex County are looking forward to this year’s Edison Symphony Holiday Concert to be held later today. The annual event is put on by the Edison Arts Society and will be held this year in downtown Edison.

The Edison Symphony is a 70-piece professional orchestra with many members from Middlesex County. Concerts are held regularly throughout the year at Middlesex County Theatre and at the State Theatre in New Brunswick.

The group has been designated the official orchestra of Middlesex County by its Chosen Board of Freeholders and has performed at The Symphony of the Stars—a performance series that combines orchestral performances with many of the biggest names in showbiz.

The symphony will be conducted at this year’s holiday concert by founder Judith Morse and, in addition to performances of most every holiday favorites by the orchestra, the event will also feature performances by soprano Catherine Spadora and 10-year-old singing sensation Emma Saccone.

The St Mathew Choir will also perform, and those tunes that attendees particularly enjoy can be downloaded from iTunes at a later date. Anyone looking to promote the event can contact local print companies for flyer printing or other printing services.

The concert will be held rain or shine this evening at 7:30 pm at St. Mathew the Apostle Church-100 Seymour Ave. Tickets are $20 for adults—they can be purchased online or by calling 732-986-2429. Children aged 12 and under get in free.
