Flemington and area libraries offer plenty of programs

Late March will prove to be a busy time for the libraries in Flemington and the surrounding areas. The library system will be offering a wide range of programming during the last two weeks of the month, ranging from musical events to photography workshops.

Flemington area author Christie Gucker will read from her novels ‘The Cliff’ and ‘The Purple Heart’ at the Hunterdon County Library, 314 Route 12, on March 21 at 7:00 pm. After the reading, Gucker will be available to answer questions about the writing and publishing process.

Eco del Sur, or ‘Echo of the South’, will also make an appearance at the Hunterdon County Library in Flemington. This is a Latin American folk music group that was founded in 2000 in an effort to preserve the culture of several Latin American regions. The musical group performs a wide range of styles influenced by Spanish, Pre-Columbian, and African cultures. The group will play at the library on March 27 at 7:00 pm. Flemington flyer printing can be made use of by the library to let patrons know of the upcoming events and to give them information on registering.

The nearby North County branch library is also hosting a number of free programs this month. Bass-baritone Ingmar Bueb will perform the Schumann/Heine song cycle ‘Dichterliebe’ on March 16 at 1:00 pm. A two-hour photography workshop will also take place at the North County library on March 21 at 7:00 pm, covering the basics of photography, as well as digital technology and organizing photo files. People can register for either event by calling 908-730-6135.
