December 25 not the end of East Brunswick area festivities

Those with post-Christmas blues can still enjoy a variety of events in the area once December 25 has passed.

Those who love a festive tale will no doubt enjoy The Christmas Story musical on Saturday, December 28, at Madison Square Garden in New York City. East Brunswick residents can catch a free bus to the event at 9:00 am from the Plainsboro Recreation and Community Center.

The show, based on the 1983 movie, begins at 2:00 pm. The bus ride is free but attendees must purchase their own show ticket and provide their own lunch. Registration for the bus must be made in advance, and participants will be able to receive the show group rate.

Also on the same day, singles can enjoy a live band dance party featuring the El Five at the Soho Lounge & Grill, 60 Cottontail Lane in Franklin Township at 7:30 pm. Banner printing is perfect for events such as this.

El Five will perform favorites from the 60s to the 80s. Admission is $18 at the door, and the dress code is smart casual with no jeans or sneakers. Salsa dance instructor Donna Roesel will give dance instruction at 6:45 pm.

A third event that day is the Black Tie Masquerade event at 8:00 pm at the Galloping Hill Caterers Union, 325 Chestnut Street in Union. This is a fundraising event for Luther Foy, who was diagnosed with sarcoidosis in 2001 and now requires a lung transplant. All funds raised from the event will be donated to Foy’s cause. Admission is a $75 donation.
