Newark YMCA hosts breakfast to honor Dr. Martin Luther King

January 5, 2017 by

The YMCA of Newark and Vicinity will be holding its annual memorial breakfast for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. later on this month.

This event has been held by the YMCA of Newark and Vicinity for the past 45 years, with the YMCA being the first organization of a local nature to hold such an event honoring Dr. King. The goal of the breakfast is to enable attendees to remember and reflect on the vision of a community that Dr. King had for a world of love, understanding, and peace, and to reconnect with the high ideals he personified.

The speaker at the breakfast will be Dr. Susan Cole, President of Montclair State University.

The YMCA has used a flyer printing company to create a flyer with more details about signing up for the breakfast. Corporate sponsorships of $2,500 and table sponsorships of $1,500 provide company recognition on all digital and printed materials, event agenda, and tabletop display while individual tickets are $45 each. Additional donations are also encouraged.

The breakfast will be held at the Robert Treat Hotel in Newark on Friday, January 13 beginning at 8:00 am.

The YMCA of Newark and Vicinity provides programs of recreation, education, social direction, and health in order to enhance the quality of life in the community.
