Follow your route to Alburquerque for festival

The Route 66 Summerfest 2012 will be taking place July 21 in the Nob Hill Neighborhood, on Central Avenue between Washington Avenue and Girard Street in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This event will run between 2:00 pm and 10:00 pm.

During this festival, the NM jazz festival will provide the musical program throughout the day, including a national headliner group. The NM Route 66 Association’s Custom and Classic Car Show will participate in a Sunset Neon Cruise down the Old Route 66. As part of this festive occasion, there will be an Urban Wheels Show featuring some of the most awesome green cars, bicycles, and scooters out there today.

Food Central will feature some of Albuquerque’s hottest cuisines on the scene with local chefs, food artists, and food trucks. The Cork and Tap Festival will join by to provide beverages, entertainment, and food from local wineries and breweries. Vendors at this event will include a full city block with local crafters, artisans, and small independent businesses. There will be a Kids Zone with a puppy pool party, ABQ Kids got Talent Stage, and the National Dance Institute. There will also be live street theatre, face painting, crafts, and more for the kiddies. This is a great festival for the whole family with loads of entertainment, including historic tours and today’s culture of the historic Route 66.
