Shelburne Museum celebrates the opening of the Pizzagalli Center

The Pizzagalli Center for Art and Education at the Shelburne Museum celebrated its grand opening this August.

During the grand opening, admission to the museum was free. The day was filled with activities such as gallery talks, the Vermont music tent, a Vaudeville tent, panel discussions, wine tastings, art activities, and a performance by the Dave Keller Band. Guests also had the opportunity to tour the Center’s inaugural exhibit, “Color, Pattern, Whimsy, Scale: The Best of Shelburne Museum”. Among the several gallery talks, there was one on female artists titled “Portrait of three women”.

Members of the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce will have a chance to visit the Pizzagalli Center in September. A Night at the Museum: an Evening of Art and Architecture will give them a chance to tour the exhibit and the rest of the museum while enjoying hors d’oeuvres and drinks.

The new art center will no doubt draw lots of visitors from the surrounding area, including Hinesburg. Local print companies have likely been asked to provide advertising materials to the organizers of both events.

The Pizzagalli Center for Art and Education’s grand opening took place on August 18. A Night at the Museum will take place on September 25 from 5:30pm – 7:30pm. Tickets are $10 in advance or $14 at the door for members, and $20 for non-members. To find out more about this event, call the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce at 877-686-5253.
