Pumpkin journey gets on track

The Pumpkin Patch Express is offering a way for the entire family to enjoy a scenic fall trip to the pumpkin patch to pick their own spooky pumpkin that is just right for the carving. This is a special Halloween event getting underway today, and costumes on the train are encouraged.

It takes place on the Valley Train and provides an old fashion rail experience along a historic railway route using vintage passenger compartments from the 1920s, leaving the vintage train station and travelling directly to the pumpkin patch, which is located at White Mountain Cider Company.

Along the scenic path, people will enjoy picturesque vistas and be able to enjoy the changing leaves of fall. Once arriving at the Pumpkin Patch, children can wander the grounds until they find the perfect pumpkin. Children under the age of four ride for free, so it is a chance to gather up the kids and take a ride to find the pick of pumpkins. It might be a good opportunity for photos, which could later be made into postcards or posters at a print company.

The cost is the price of a regular fare. The Pumpkin Patch Express will be chugging down the rails to the pumpkin patch on Friday to Sunday, both this weekend and next, starting at 1:30 pm from the Conway Scenic Rail Station in North Conway, New Hampshire. On Saturdays, there is an extra departure time, leaving the station at 3:30 pm.
