Self-defense classes to strike near Seekonk

April 9, 2013 by

Krav Maga of Boston is returning to the Seekonk area during the months of April and May.

Krav Maga is an official self-defense technique implemented in Israel. Variations of the martial art have been created and applied by the Israeli law enforcement team, the intelligence organization, ‘Mossad’ (Israeli Intelligence and Special Ops), and ‘Shin Bet’ (Internal Security).

The philosophy behind this self-defense system underscores threat negation, synchronized defensive and offensive moves, and aggression when appropriate. Based on basic ideologies and instinctive actions, this real-life defense system teaches actual self-defense as quickly as possible. The Hebrew word ‘krav’ translates as ‘combat’ or ‘battle’, while ‘maga’ means ‘contact’.

Krav Maga Boston has been instructing law enforcement workers these defensive maneuvers for over 13 years. The professional instructors understand the situations and scenarios that police officers handle on a daily basis, as well as the rules to which they must adhere. They have applied authentic Krav Maga training maneuvers, effective methods, and philosophies and adjusted them to suit the U.S. Police.

Not only does Krav Maga Boston offer superior self-defense training; this technique also relieves stress, firms and tones, and provides the student with a comprehensive workout – so it work be no surprise if brochure printers were put to work to extoll all of its benefits.

Classes are open to the public, take place on Saturday mornings from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Fitness and Martial Arts Center in New Bedford, and are free of charge. The Center is located at 665 Orchard Street in New Bedford.
