Haven from Hunger gets support from the Driveway Doctors

The Driveway Doctors located in Peabody recently announced that they will be giving back to the community by enabling customers from Salem, Lynnfield, and Peabody to get one free oil change per year in exchange for donating at least $20 to their cause, Haven from Hunger.

No doubt the full service shop for automobiles is using flyer printing and poster printing to let people in the area know that they can support the food pantry and get a much-needed maintenance done to their cars at the same time.

According to Alyse Barbash, Haven Executive Director, the partnership with Driveway Doctors is new and the money raised will be used for the Haven’s $1.3 million capital campaign. These funds will enable the food pantry to purchase the property on which it is located in Peabody and renovate the facility to make it handicap-accessible and more modern.

Shop owner and co-founder of the Driveway Doctors, Alexander Tallet, said that his shop manager and business partner, Donny Dinicola, and their three employees are from the area and this led to opening the shop in Peabody.

Tallet says he appreciates the community feel of the area and wanted to become part of it. He discovered Haven from Hunger, inspected its operations, saw how hard everyone worked under limited resources, and fixed its van for no charge. He then decided to continue the relationship with the food pantry and came up with the promotion for customers living in the communities the food pantry serves.
