Newburyport business appointments aplenty

March 21, 2012 by

It’s been a busy month for the corporate community in Newburyport. Keeping an eye on business announcements in the local paper is a great opportunity for printers to drum up clients for business card printing.

Highlights from the business pages of The Newburyport Daily News include the appointment of Steven St. Arnault to the Massachusetts Association of Realtors (MAR) as vice-president of government affairs. St. Arnault, a real estate professional with Stone Ridge Properties, will represent his fellow realtors in state affairs pertaining to public policy, grassroots initiatives and political activities. His appointment is a three-year term and includes a seat on the MAR Board of Directors. He has been in real estate since 2005.

Kathleen Ives has been promoted to chief operating officer for The Sloan Consortium (Sloan-C), an organization of individuals and groups dedicated to higher education and online learning. When Ives was associate director of Sloan-C, she developed many successful workshops and programs. She has a PhD in organizational leadership from the University of Phoenix.

A new public relations and communications firm has opened in Newburyport on Merrimac Street. BDG, operated by John Brice and Gabe Davis, will offer advertising, marketing and brand strategy solutions to Newburyport businesses in both the profit and non-profit sectors.

Another appointment this month includes Susan Bragg Meurer, who has been appointed principal of management consulting firm, Development Guild/DDI, where she has worked for over 20 years. The firm specializes in organizational strategies, management of talent, and fundraising for non-profit organizations and boards.
