The KC Moaners brush their teeth near Fall River

The Stone Church Coffee House in Bristol, RI is the venue of choice for a split-bill featuring the music of the KC Moaners followed by the Brush Your Teeth Band.

About 20 minutes from Fall River, the coffee house is located inside the First Congregational Church, at the corner of Bradford Street and High Street.

The KC Moaners hale from the backwoods of northern Rhode Island. The irreverent jug band was born when Jim Chapin and Greg Andreozzi — a guitarist and percussionist, respectively — discovered one another at a 1990s bluegrass festival, and the rest is history.

With an eclectic fusion of jazz, blues, and folk music, the KC Moaners work their magic with a unique combination of the fiddle, kazoo, guitar, jug, banjo, and washtub, and harmonica, among other instruments, to toe-tapping perfection.

Also featured is The Brush Your Teeth Band, comprising Thatcher Harrison, an 11-year-old guitar wunderkind, accompanied by his father, Stan.

Thatcher’s interest in the guitar made itself known when he was but a toddler; by the time he turned five-years-old he was playing before an audience. Over the subsequent six years, Thatcher’s talent and love for the guitar developed and he blossomed into full-blown professional artist—complete with digital business cards.

This family-friendly show takes place on May 11 at 7:30 pm. Tickets may be purchased at the door for $15 apiece. The price of admission for students is $7.50, and there is no charge for children under the age of five.
