Porter Square Hotel to open in 2015

The new Porter Square Hotel in Cambridge, a hotel developed and managed by Hay Creek Hotels, is scheduled to be open in the spring of 2015. Most likely the management company is using flyer printing and brochure printing as part of an information campaign to highlight its facilities to potential visitors.

The Porter Square location is close to Harvard University and MIT and many tourist and commercial destinations and is on one of the mass transit stops for the Boston area. There will be 70 rooms in the hotel, of an upscale nature with many amenities for both the leisure and business traveler.

A full-service restaurant and bar will also be on the premises with an open-air patio for the warmer weather open onto busy Massachusetts Avenue for those interested in people-watching. There will also be a private dining room and additional banquet and meeting facilities. A retreat from the city life and location will be afforded by an outdoor walking garden.

According to Norman MacLeod, President and CEO of Hay Creek Hotels, building this hotel has special meaning for him as he grew up in Cambridge and is now able to combine his local roots and professional experience in managing this hotel. He added that a new upscale independent hotel is needed in the City of Cambridge right now. There are some travelers who prefer hotels not brand-specific that can provide personalized service, a restaurant with seasonal menus using fresh foods from local organic farms and reflect the cultural significance of the location of the property.
