Burlington puts its Best Boot Forward

January 11, 2013 by

United States Marine Sergeant-cum-author, Deniz Emre, will be at the Burlington Used Book Superstore promoting his recently published book, ‘Best Boot Forward’. Sergeant Emre penned this book as a directive to help fellow military veterans reclaim their status as civilians in society and in the job market.

Area residents will have an opportunity to meet Sergeant Emre —and purchase an autographed copy of his book — tomorrow, January 12, at the Used Book Superstore. From 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, he will be at the 256 Cambridge Street location. From there, he will go to the Danvers location at 139 Endicott Street and sign books from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. An autographed copy of the book sells for $9.99. No doubt, this timely publication will keep the printing services busy.

The former Marine Sergeant and United States veteran served in active duty from 2002 – 2007. In 2003, as part of the Alpha Company, Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, Emre engaged in battle as an infantryman during the invasion of Iraq. Successively, he served the rest of his enlistment on assignments sending him from Europe to West Africa with the Marine Corps Embassy Security Group (MCESG).

Sergeant Deniz Emre graduated from the Suffolk University Class of 2011 in Boston, Massachusetts with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. Currently, his focal point is assisting fellow post 911-era veterans come to grips with their wartime experiences, as well as the challenging transition from GI to civilian. No doubt he will be given a warm welcome home.
