North Shore Community College (NSCC), which has its main campus in Danvers with satellite locations in Beverly and Lynn, this month announced its recommendation of Dr. Patricia Gentile as the new president of the institution.

No doubt the College will be using business card printing for Dr. Gentile once the state Board of Higher Education confirms her appointment on October 22. She will become the fourth president of NSCC and will start in January 2014.

According to chairman of the trustees of NSCC, Richard Yagjian, the trustees found Dr. Gentile to be an excellent match for the requirements of the school in terms of commitment, experience, and values. Yagjian believes she will help to bring the college to its next level with her charismatic and transformational leadership capabilities.

Gentile attended The Wharton School, where she received degrees in finance and public policy and management. She also studied at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she received a degree in higher education and educational leadership.

Gentile is currently the Dean of Advancement, Enrollment Management and the Cape May County Campus for Atlantic Community College in New Jersey. She spent 14 years at the college in various administrative roles and as an adjunct business instructor. Her early teaching career was for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and she has volunteered in various capacities.

Gentile has said she is very happy to join the NSCC community as she has found it to be one where the educators are extremely passionate and dedicated to ensuring that all students have the opportunity and experience to learn.
