A Norwalk ghostly gathering lurks ahead for adults

October 16, 2013 by

The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum is inviting all Norwalk adult ghosts and ghouls to attend its Victorian Villains Halloween Costume Party later this month.

Adults are invited to dress up for the gala for a spooky night of dancing, Victorian villains, and prizes. Proceeds will go to the museum’s cultural and educational programs. The $99 admission includes Halloween treats and a catered light dinner, drinks, dancing, and psychic readings. There will also be a Haunted Basement Tour in the bowels of the mansion which will be transformed into a semi-terrifying Civil War-style maze with playacting, frightening props, and eerie lighting. Tickets and reservations must be purchased in advance before October 21.

This event is made possible in part by local residents Doug Hempstead, Gregory Kling, Ellen Letkowski, and Liana Sonenclar, Rose Carroll is the special coordinator and Mike Holomakoff will provide electrical assistance. Local providers of printing services may want to look into printing flyers for next year’s bash.

Also, Victorian Villains Halloween Costume Party Ticket holders can saunter over to Mill Hill Historic Park for free admission either Friday or Saturday for the 6:00 pm, 7:30 pm or 9:00 pm Haunting at Mill Hill lantern tour put on by the Norwalk Historical Society. Halloween revelers can stroll through the historic graveyard by lantern light while enjoying macabre tales suitable for the occasion. Please call the Norwalk Historical Society for reservations by October 21.

The costume party will be Saturday, October 26, running from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm, at the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion, 295 West Avenue, Norwalk.
