Caribbean culture comes to New London

August 22, 2012 by

The public is invited to experience Caribbean culture in New London, Connecticut on this Saturday, August 25.

The 2nd Annual Caribbean Night will run from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm and will be held at the New London Waterfront Park located at 2 State Street. The family event is sponsored by the City of New London and will allow the patrons to enjoy a taste of relaxing island living. Guests can dance all evening to nonstop island music, while feasting on authentic Caribbean cuisine. There will be kids’ activities like face-painting, limbo contests for all ages, dancers, and a stilt walker.

Print companies have probably already finished flyer printing to promote the event. Flyers are a great way to spread news of upcoming events. They can be handed out or hung up in public areas for all to see. Posters or banners also tend to be materials of choice for advertising festivals and events.

An assortment of Caribbean music will be playing for the four-hour event that is part of the Waterfront Park Summer Events of 2012. Guests can see the most colorful sights and dance to live entertainment by the hired musical talent. Local New London band, Steel Dreams, will provide the vocals and steel percussion, and the Afro Caribbean drums will be courtesy of Drumworxs. This will be the second year for this fun cultural event, enjoying Caribbean food and listening to the music.
