Monroe’s Sports Person of the Year announced

September 12, 2012 by

The annual Sports Person of the Year awards by the Fairfield County Sports Commission were announced recently and Casey Cochran was selected for the town of Monroe.

The Masuk High School quarterback was one of 15 athletes who will receive the annual award from the Commission. Cochran has also received the Gatorade State Player of the Year award for his contributions to the Masuk High School football team.

For each community, a local representative heads a committee of volunteers to select a Sports Person of the Year from 110,000 students. The winner is the person who has made the most notable and positive impact on local sports for the year. The Commission aims to promote sport as a good way to build personal development and fitness and is an easily accessible resource for the sporting community in Monroe and other communities in the county.

Promoting the achievements of athletes like Cochran can be easily accomplished through attractive flyer printing that highlights statistics, records, and includes action photos. Poster printing is another way to spread the message and encourage other students to compete at the highest level of their abilities. Organizations like the Fairfield County Sports Commission can work hand-in-hand with printing companies to design attractive, compelling, and inspirational promotional pieces.

Award-winners will be honored at the eighth annual Sports Night awards dinner. The event will be held at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich on Monday, October15, at 6:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased from the Fairfield County Sports Commission website.
