Morning of learning on offer for Middletown special needs families

July 23, 2018 by

Parents of a son or daughter with physical, developmental, or intellectual challenges can often be placed in the position of having to advocate for their child’s needs, and workshop that will be held in Middletown will share tips for how to do so successfully.

The Law Office of Courtney P. Spencer, LLC. , which specializes in representing families with special needs, has organized ‘Special Education Bootcamp’ to provide no-nonsense advice and tools to local families. The planners noted that their goal is to aid each parent or caregiver in receiving a ‘yes’ when it comes to obtaining programming and other services for their daughter or son, and a variety of topics will be addressed.

The agenda for the morning will include breakout sessions where the attendees can share best practices and learn from one another. There will also be mock PPTs and time for parents and caregivers to ask questions and share any concerns they may have. It will be presented by attorneys Kathleen Werbner, Esq. and Courtney P. Spencer, Esq.

The registration fee for this morning of learning has been set at $35, and scholarships may be available for any families that need one. Workbooks and other material for this sort of occasion can be provided by area printing services companies.

This opportunity for parents and caregivers to brush up on their advocacy skills will be taking place on August 11, starting at 9:00 am. It will be held at 27 Washington Street in Middletown.
