Arts Festival almost upon us

This year, Milford will be celebrating the 14th Annual Walnut Beach Arts Festival in a big way.

The festival will take place on August 5, running from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The event is expected to be one of the grandest celebrations yet, featuring artists from all over Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New York, and other states having their work displayed. Artists may decide to invest in business card printing to further promote their wares. To boost attendance, the event is being highly publicized in several magazines that include Yankee Magazine, Connecticut Magazine, and Milford Magazine. The Milford Chamber of Commerce, radio broadcast, and local channels 8 and 12 are also playing a role in the promotion of the event.

The passing of time effects changes in our society. As time goes on, technology evolves, philosophies are revised, perspectives are altered, and, as the subjects for art change, the artwork itself can change as well. When considering art as an ever-changing by-product of our ever-changing society, it can be concluded that the arts can never be over-celebrated.

A little less than an hour’s drive from Manchester, across from Walnut Beach on East Broadway and Viscount Drive, the artists will display all types of artwork, such as paintings, metalwork, woodwork, pottery, clothing, ceramics, quilting, jewelry, food products and music. Since the festival is going to be a juried event, all of the artwork will be original.

Parking is free and some vendors will be offering free doughnuts and coffee to the public.
