Easter Bunny coming for breakfast

The time is upon us for ‘Breakfast with the Easter Bunny’ in East Haven.

This weekend will see be plenty of egg decorating, crafts, and activities. Children of ages eight and younger are free, while those older and their guardians pay $5. Proceeds benefit the East Haven Rotary Club High School Scholarship Fund.

Following breakfast will be the annual Easter Egg Hunt on the Hudson Street tennis courts (next to the ice rink). Admission to the egg hunt is free and children’s crafts and activity pages can be printed at a local printing company for large groups of kids and their parents to complete.

This Saturday, March 30, at 8:30 am is the time to enjoy all of this at the East Haven Senior Center at 91 Taylor Avenue.

Looking ahead to the summer, Bushy Hill Nature Center will have day camps available for children ages 5 – 16 beginning when the weather gets brighter.

Activities at camp include exploration hikes, team building, games, pond exploring, swimming, fire making, plant, and animal identification and tracking.

There is also a camp for teens that teaches them responsibility, cooperation, and communication; skills that will be vital when they go out into the work force. There will be team building exercises and projects to complete. All camps run through August.

Hours are 8:30 am – 4:00 pm with before and after care available. Bus transportation will be also be available. The camp is located at 253 Bushy Hill Road, Ivoryton. Call (860) 767-2148 for more info or to register.
