Lego creations to raise money for a good cause

The upcoming 4th annual Blocks of Lego Expo will take place at the Webster Arena in Bridgeport and hopes to build funds towards CancerCare, with admission priced at $5.

The main mission of the Blocks of Lego Expo is for builders to elicit pledges from friends, family, or their community to raise money to support the programs of CancerCare. It costs $25 for builders to register for the event and they get to display their creations. The community can also help by donating used Lego blocks and supporting the builders through pledges. Last year, the event raised over $150,000 for CancerCare and drew 3,000 participants. In addition to the builder’s creation gallery, there will be Lego build and play booths, a holiday fashion show, used toys for sale, entertainment, and the opportunity for pictures with Santa. The event is sure to draw Lego fans from all around the area, including nearby Fairfield.

No doubt organizers will be working with local printing companies to prepare for this popular event. In addition to providing the pledge forms that will be used by the builders, they can also provide banners and signs to decorate the venue, as well as flyers to let the community know about the upcoming expo.

CancerCare offers support services and programs for those suffering from cancer, as well as their families. The organization offers support groups, craft workshops, bereavement support, and free wigs for those undergoing chemotherapy.

The event will be held on November 17 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. For more information, call 203-854-9911.
