WCSU concert choir to perform in Danbury

February 18, 2014 by

The Danbury based Western Connecticut State University (WCSU) Concert Choir will be performing for the general public later this month. All those who are interested in listening to a wide variety of choral tunes (or who simply enjoy supporting ArtsWestern events) should plan to attend.

The Choir will be led by assistant Professor of Music Dr. Cory Ganschow, who in addition to holding a variety of educational positions has performed as a professional singer with various choral groups throughout the New England area. The venue seats 780 people and is equipped with a state-of-the-art sound system. There is also a reception room adjoining the main hall for people who wish to congregate before or after the performance.

The Concert Choir is part of WCSU’s Department of Music and as such promotes the goal of providing for the highest caliber education for music students and also to serve as a resource for the people of Connecticut. It is also part of Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut. Those who attend may wish to bring a camera for picture-taking, perhaps for use in postcard printing at a later date.

The concert will be held Saturday February 22 at 8:00 pm at Ives Concert Hall on the mid-town campus of WCSU, 181 White St. in Danbury,. Admission will be free, though donations will be graciously accepted. No advance reservations are required.
