Earth Day to be celebrated in Natick

March 25, 2017 by

Natick will be hosting its Earth Day Festival next month for the seventh consecutive year.

During the first two weeks of the month, storefront windows in the downtown district will be decorated with artwork from second grade students as part of the ‘Kid Art Walk’. Art studios, shops, cafes, and eateries will also be celebrating the arts.

Many vendors from neighboring towns will be showing and selling their products, including gardeners, beekeepers, solar companies, and bagel and salsa makers. Featured vendors include soup from Natick Zoup! and iconic hot dogs from Casey’s Diner.

Activities for kids will line Common Street, sponsored by the DPW, and will enable young people to explore, climb around on, and toot horns of its big trucks, which include brush hog and recycling machines.

The Massachusetts Horticultural Society, Natick Community Organic Farm, and the Broadmoor Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary in Natick will also be on hand to discuss their various programs.

The Earth Day Festival will be held from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 23 at the Natick Common. Poster printing companies can be hired to create items that can be displayed in key locations in the city so residents will become aware of this special event, and perhaps make plans to attend and learn more about sustainability initiatives in Natick.
