Pork to take pride of place during Murray Hill event

August 20, 2017 by

Residents of Murray Hill and the surrounding Brooklyn neighborhoods are invited to go hog wild during an upcoming special event.

Food Karma Projects will once again be hosting Pig Island 2017, and everyone will be welcome. It will be the eighth year for this annual event, which will showcase food prepared by star chefs and much more. Fall ciders from around the state will be featured, and there will also be a selection of craft beers an artisan spirits tent for those who enjoy high quality libations. A knife and butchering demo will be staged, there will be a whole hog roast, pork rinds, and for the vegetarians in the crowd, the Cabot Cheese food truck, Brooklyn Brine, and the NYC Hot Sauce Company will all be on hand.

The event has been planned as a family friendly occasion, and there will be lots of live entertainment that both kids and adults alike can enjoy. A special T-shirt that has been designed just for the occasion will be offered for sale, and items like this can be supplied by a local printer’s graphic design department.

These festivities that will be paying homage to the humble hog and the many ways it can be prepared, have been planned for September 9 in Erie Basin Park. Further details can be found on its event listing.
