Morton Grove prepares to host celebration of community spirit

June 28, 2017 by

This August, Morton Grove’s police department will be welcoming one and all to an event that will strengthen bonds between neighbors, the police, and their community.

The National Night out festivities, which will take place in Harrer Park, will be a free event, and all are invited to come and join in the fun. According to the organizers, last year, there were pony rides, balloon sculptures, live entertainment, two caricaturists, food, a climbing wall, bounce houses, and obstacle course. They note that with the public’s support, this year’s event will hopefully be even bigger and better.

The planners of the function have put out a call to the community seeking donations to help them provide a positive experience for everyone who participates. All contributions will be gratefully accepted and provide a simple way for individuals, businesses, and organizations alike to help build community spirit and strong connections between residents and local law enforcement. An area print company will be able to provide banners and other material for an event such as this.

The Morton Grove National Night Out activities have been planned for August 1, and they will be held in Harrer Park. Anyone who would like to make a contribution to the evening or who as questions about the function has been asked to contact Officer Lietz or Officer Tabor with the Morton Grove Police Department at 847-470-5200.
