Morton Grove area invited to show support for first responders

August 26, 2016 by

First responders and the role the play in the community will be front and center during a fundraising event near Morton Grove.

The Heroes for Hunger Pasta Dinner, which will be hosted by the Rotary Club of Glenview Sunrise and also the Glenview Firefighters #4186, will give those who take part a chance to enjoy a meal of pasta with all the trimmings. The public will have a chance to show their appreciation to local first responders and have fun by donning the costume of their favorite superhero.

The next day, there will be Hero Hustle Charity Run where the public can take part alongside firefighters, Rotarians, and other community members to raise funds that will support activities and initiatives throughout the local area. Participants can choose from a 5k, a 10k, and a 1-mile obstacle course.

The Heroes for Hunger dinner will take place at Hoffman Elementary School on September 10, with the Hero Hustle Charity run scheduled for the next day. Tickets for the meal will be $10 each. A printing company can be called upon to produce everything from race bibs to banners for the finish line, along with raffle tickets and other items than can help to make events like this a success.

Those who are interested in taking part in the meal or race, or who would like to show their support, are invited to visit the event’s webpage for further details.
