Call put out to Morton Grove artists

July 29, 2016 by

Creative folk from Morton Grove and the communities that surround it are invited to submit pieces that show their vision of the state of Illinois.

Gallery Seven in Jolliet will be hosting a juried show entitled ‘The Art of Illinois’ , and artists who are aged 18 and over and who reside in the state are invited to submit one of their works that they feel best represents the state. Pieces using any medium besides video or film can be submitted, so long as they have not been previously shown at the gallery and do not require and special instructions or installations. As the works will all be for sale, the artist will need to set a price.

The nonrefundable entry fee of $35 will allow an artist to submit up to five works, which will be on display for the full length of the show. The jury for the exhibit will be members of Gallery Seven, and it will throughout November. Brochures can be printed for events such as this that give further information about the person who created the works of art and their vision behind their piece.

Submissions to the exhibition will be accepted from August 1 until September 15, and the artists who have been chosen for inclusion will be notified by October 11.

More information about The Art of Illinois can be found by visiting the gallery’s website.
