Upcoming conference to help authors become more successful

The 5th annual Winter Writers’ weekend conference is taking place next month in Bucks County, and is a presentation of Open Door Publications.

The weekend will be filled with workshops, speakers, social events, and networking opportunities. Guest speakers include Nicole Loughan, who will talk about how to make a living as a writer, and Brian Jud, who will discuss the business side of writing.

Workshops will have two tracks: the act of writing, and the business of writing. Topics will include social media for authors, creating authors’ websites, and promotion of eBooks. Workshop leaders include Cassandra Laymon, David Schuchman, and Lisa B. Snyder.

Other subjects touched on during the conference will include selling books through Amazon and getting the perfect headshot for advertising. The event will start off with a welcome reception where attendees can meet the speakers and their fellow writers. There will also be breakfasts and lunches, and sponsorships are available for purchase by local businesses.

This writers’ conference will likely attract authors from all over Bucks County, including those from nearby Morrisville. Many of those attending may decide to invest in custom business cards before attending so they can keep in touch with some of those they will meet.

The Winter Writers’ weekend will take place at the Logan Inn in New Hope from March 3 to 5. The registration fee is $200. Call 609-553-9800 to learn more.
