Soccer Fest strikes a chord in September

August 30, 2012 by

On Saturday, September 8, ‘Soccer Fest’ will be hosted at the Brandt Quirk Park, formerly known as Quarry Park, in Watertown, Wisconsin. This event begins at 9:00 am and ends at 1:00 pm.

Soccer Fest is an event for children of any age within the community. The festival takes place on the Watertown Soccer Club field and is the lead-in to the fall soccer season, kicking off the Watertown Park and Recreational soccer leagues. During this festival, there will be a number of inflatables, plenty of children’s games, a host of concessions, and vendors offering something for the entire family. There promises to be lots of fun at this family-oriented festival.

Watertown’s Soccer Club began in 1955 and was created through an assortment of community volunteers. The group provides girls and boys with the opportunity to progress past the recreational level into the intermediate and travel levels. Through the recreational department, WSC memberships have grown steadily and, today, players begin in Grade 4 and end in High School competing in competitive and recreational divisions. The purpose of this club is to promote teamwork, develop skills in players, and to practice sportsmanship while having fun.

Flyer printing and poster printing through local print companies may have been used to promote this festival to the families in this community and the surrounding areas. Admission is free and all are welcome to come along for a soccer special. For more information about the Soccer Festival, please visit the Watertown Soccer website or call 920-206-0078.
