Janesville on the hunt

September 26, 2012 by

This year, a ‘Poverty Scavenger Hunt’ will be taking place in Janesville, offering terrific fun for teams with no more than five members. One member from each must act as the designated driver and provide the transport for the entire team.

By participating in this scavenger hunt, team members will receive first-hand knowledge of what is required to live on limited income for the family, or team. They will also discover how widespread poverty is in Rock County and what resources are available to battle the problem.

As part of the event, the teams will network with other groups who are meeting the needs of at-risk Rock County families. The winner of this fundraising event will be able to pick a charity from the Homelessness Intervention Task Force (HITF) to receive 50% of the registration fees, with the remaining fees going to HITF to assist in covering other pending costs. Rock County has numerous families in need, so there is every reason to get a team together and sign up to help out a good cause.

This fundraising scavenger hunt may have been promoted and advertised using poster printing and flyer printing throughout the community. The official hunt takes place this Friday, September 28, between 8:00 am and 12:00 pm and will start at the Rock County Job Center located at 1900 Center Avenues in Janesville, Wisconsin. The cost is $10 per person. For additional news or information, contact Jessica at the ECHO center by calling 608-754-5333 during regular business hours.
