Festival to let guests’ garden knowledge grow

August 13, 2012 by

On Saturday, August 25, the annual ‘Grow It, East It Garden Festival’ will be held at the Rock County Fairgrounds located at 1301 Graig Avenue in Janesville, Wisconsin. This event is free of charge to attend and starts at 9:00 am and runs until 3:00 pm.

This event was staged by the Rock Prairie Master Gardeners Association, which is the 42nd branch of this association from the Wisconsin Master Gardener Program. The theme for this year’s festival is “Grow It, Eat It”.

This garden festival is created by volunteers from the Rock Prairie Master Gardeners Association in conjunction with the University of Wisconsin, which is a research facility that provides community service and educational resources for the gardening community in this area. At the festival, the community will be able to learn about the wealth of plants, both perennial and annual, that will grow in this region, as well as information and resources about native species, annuals, and gardening. There will be a number of informational booths and businesses available during the festival, where guests can learn about all types of plants and make purchases for their gardens. This projects to be a great learning opportunity for new gardeners and is a family outdoor event, so it would be smart to bring along hats and sunscreen.

Poster printing and flyer printing may have been used to promote this garden festival to all the gardeners in the community, as well as the surrounding regions. For more information, please visit the Rock Prairie Master Gardener Association website.
