Sioux Falls show provides advice to gardeners

The Lawn and Garden Show is taking place in Sioux Falls for three days this March.

The show is set to feature landscape and garden displays, seminars, demonstrations, hands-on workshops, and vendors. There is also a nature photo contest in both professional and amateur categories in which people can compete for cash and prizes.

Local experts such as the Minnehaha Master Gardeners will be on hand to give advice on planning and maintaining a healthy garden. Guests can also play ‘Stump the Experts’ by bringing in their most difficult gardening questions to be answered by John Ball, David Graper, and David Chalmers.

Seminars are expected to include topics such as ‘Dehydration of foods and preserves’, ‘Vegetable fermentation’ and ‘Artistry in the garden’. Some of the hands-on workshops will include making a rain barrel and gifts for gardeners.

This is likely to be a popular event after a long winter. Organizers will be advertising it widely in the Sioux Falls area. This often includes investing in services like booklet and flyer printing, items that can be easily distributed by door-to-door delivery or as newspaper inserts.

The Lawn and Garden Show will be held at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds from March 28 to 30. Admission is $7 or free for children of 13 years of age and under. For more information about the event, call 605-334-0619.
