Sioux Falls hosts Central Plains Dairy Expo

February 10, 2013 by

The Central Plains Dairy Expo is a three-day event which provides education and entertainment to farmers, dairy producers, and the general public. There will something for everyone at this year’s expo.

The expo will start off with a welcome reception, which will be free to attend for dairy producers, their families and their employees. It will feature appetizers, beverages, and a concert by country music singer Phil Vassar.

The tradeshow part of the expo will take place over two of the days and is open to the general public. It will feature seminars and breakout sessions in English and Spanish, live entertainment, and vendors selling dairy-related products and services. Breakout sessions will cover such topics as ‘Economic outlook and opportunities: what’s the market telling you?’, ‘Feeding for nutritional and economic efficiency in today’s unpredictable dairy market’, and ‘Get more milk from less feed’. While these sessions will likely be more helpful to those in the dairy industry, other business leaders may be interested in learning how they can supply that industry with what they need.

Vendors can rent booths for $100 – $650. They can also buy advertisements in Expo Magazine from $250 – $1,400. No doubt the organizers of the expo will be working with Sioux Falls printing companies to prepare. There will be a need for tickets, reading materials and advertising materials. Vendors will also require products such as signs, brochures, and banners to attract people to their booths.

The Central Plains Dairy Expo will take place at the Sioux Falls Arena and Convention Center from March 26 – 28. Admission is free. For more information call 605-367-4100.
